Patty Wade Bennett has worked in the athletic and fitness field for 40+ years. Over the first eight-year period she was employed at the following universities:
- Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
- Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida
- Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia.
Patty received her Bachelor’s Degree in Health, Physical Education & Recreation from Louisiana State University where she excelled in her studies of anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics. Her graduate study at Florida State University culminated in a Master’s Degree in Recreation & Leisure Services & Sciences with an emphasis on Campus and Municipal Recreation. She also served as CoRec Intramural Director at FSU, and in addition to being on the HPE&R Faculty at Virginia Tech, Patty was Director of the Individual/Dual Sports Intramural program on campus.
Patty has been a continual advocate of recreational activity programs for all, emphasizing staying healthy for lifelong activity! She has taught Health & Physical Education classes to grades 1-8 in Miami, Florida, and at the college level in both Virginia and Colorado.
After moving to Aspen, Colorado, Patty has been “Featured Fitness Instructor of the Year” at Colorado Mountain College, Director of Skier Services for Aspen Highlands Ski area, and the Aspen Meadows Health Club Director for the Aspen Institute for Humanistic Studies. She is an International Dance & Exercise Association (I.D.E.A.) member and an American College of Exercise (A.C.E.) certified Fitness Instructor and has been a personal fitness trainer in Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley areas of Colorado.
In 2002 Patty studied Muscle Activation Techniques™ under Founder Greg Roskopf in Denver, Colorado, and in 2003 earned the title of Certified MAT Specialist. She studied further in the MAT Master’s Program and went on to become the second female and ninth person in the world to achieve the certified MAT Master Specialist level. After intensive advanced study with Greg Roskopf, Patty achieved the MAT RX Foot & Hand Specialist designation. She was among the “Best of the Best” MAT Master Specialists to be invited by the Founder to learn and now has achieved, the most advanced level in MAT — MAT Rx Full Body!
Patty’s personal goal was initially to heal after a rear-end collision, and in turn to bring Muscle Activation Techniques™ to Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley. She considers her own MAT results to be “incredible” and enjoys the return to her active lifestyle – biking, downhill & cross country skiing, hiking, water skiing, golf, camping and traveling. Patty is very passionate about providing the possibility for her clients to also achieve “Incredible” MAT results!
